Matt has been sick for the last three days. At first we thought he just came down with a minor cold but he started puking so we took him to his doctor. The doctor said that he didn't have any infections so he should be okay as long as he took fluids until he felt better. But when he didn't stop puking for three days we were concerned so we decided to take him to the ER. We felt so badly for Matt - a three year old boy shouldn't have to go through the misery... He whined and whined and we knew he was really sick when he stopped talking completely and just moaned and whimpered. Sean gave him a beautiful blessing and we all started crying. It was a great experience, too, because Matt was so reverent during the prayer and he never once made any sound during it (which was really almost a miracle). He slept and slept but whenever he woke up from his nap, he puked. He could take nothing, no fluid, no food, nothing. The doctor at the ER was super nice and he took good care of Matt. We were there for three hours. He took a anti-nausea medicine and some pedialyte. It worked great. Although Matt whined the whole time we were there, he seems to be feeling better now that we are home. He's talking more and he is super excited to eat the regular food that he loves, like a peanut butter sandwich... well, actually he says he wants some "jam" sandwich tomorrow. Hopefully he will feel good enough to eat some of that tomorrow. It's never fun watching my kids get sick... I actually cried a couple of times because I felt so bad for him. Not fun!
